More and more states are legalizing medical marijuana for people with various medical issues that may require it. It is as simple as going to your doctor and getting a card that says that you are eligible to go to a dispensary and purchase various amounts of marijuana based on what your prescription is. Some are even getting medical marijuana cards that make them eligible to cultivate and grow marijuana in their homes.

There are 16 states that have allowed medical marijuana for use by patients. These states are Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Each state is different as to how much marijuana they will let you possess at one time with your card. Also, most of the states mentioned require you to have proof of residency when you go to purchase the marijuana.

Marijuana is becoming closer and closer to becoming made legal in all 50 states for medical use and made legal federally. Some even think that marijuana may be made legal for all to use no matter what because of the fact that it is less dangerous than alcohol and even tobacco which are both legal. Many think that making it legal will increase tax revenue for the government and help the nation with the debt problem.
